2022 FisherPoets Gathering
February 25-26
February 25-26
We don't plan to make a habit of it but, given the unpredictable pandemic weather, here's another virtual FisherPoets Gathering schooled up. It was great fun last year and ought to be again. We invite friends and fans once again to catch 'em all for free by following the FisherPoets Gathering on-line as we stream it all live.
Friday and Saturday Evening Readings will feature two 90-minute shows of fifteen or so fisherpoets keeping it short and sweet, a parade of five-minute performances, original song, story and poetry from the commercial fishing industry. A thirty-minute break will separate shows.
Among the Gathering's Special Events expect another Saturday morning and afternoon of on-line workshops and presentations on topics like performing the spoken word, crafting working poetry, restoring global ocean health and repairing local watersheds.
His fisherpoet friends are also remembering, in his own words, our irreplaceable friend Jon Campbell, Saturday afternoon at "Campbell's Last Set."
On the Films and More Performances page you'll find a variety of short films, performances and presentations to take you trotlining for crab in Chesapeake Bay, setnetting for sockeye salmon in Bristol Bay, baiting hooks in Northumberland and strolling the beach on the windy Oregon coast.
Whille you're looking around, visit Visual Art and Films and More Performances pages from last year's first virtual FisherPoets Gathering. We kept those up for you.
Here below is the list of fisherpoets who'll join us for this, our 25th Annual FisherPoets Gathering
